My 3 yr old is obsessed with fire engines and this book was perfect for him to learn more than just the basics. Every so often I'll open it again and read a few pages, just to rediscover what spoke so strongly to me when I was a teen. The first book Hamilton published was Inside Canadian Intelligence. and yet one full book away. "Everyone knew that a Good dairy farm must have top quality hucows working 24/7. Years ago, his friend's murder had affected Nick so much that he'd fled his home. Detective Gunther is a decent man who (because of his intuition) works to reverse the overwhelming evidence which seems to convict a real jerk. An afghan in hot pink and orange, a horizontally stripped pullover in neon green, blue and yellow, an orange turtleneck, are what the author offers for color and they are all hideous. He may have been the model for the boy in "The Yearling". I hope there are many more to come, but I'd wish they'd get a new lease on life.
